Community Features

Classy and refined, Princeton is the epitome of elegance. Standing proudly at the foot of Mount Wachusett, Princeton displays an alluring community of seasonal homes dating back from the Victorian period. Many of these homes have been beautifully restored and still are in use today.  Princeton schools are dedicated to outstanding performance for the students.  Princeton is home to many talented professionals, entrepreneurs, artists, and crafts people.

Princeton was named after Reverend Thomas Prince. He was the pastor of the Old South Church in Boston and an avid land holder in Princeton. This enchanting piece of land is home to the first steam mill in the area. Built up from nothing by William T. Merrifield in 1830, the lumber from this mill was used to build a lot of the homes you see and love today. Grist and saw mills were also found in the Princeton area around the 1700's.

Wachusett Mountain is the most physically illustrious trait of Princeton. It is the highest mountain in Massachusetts, east of the Connecticut River. Boasting ski trails, chair lifts and a lodge, year round entertainment is at your finger tips.  Mt. Wachusett offers great night skiing, as well as the best learn to ski program around.  Is the peace of nature what you crave? There are over 3,000 acres of wild life refuges to quench your desire, including: Mt. Wachusett, Wachusett Meadow (Audubon Society) and Minns Wildlife Sanctuary.

Princeton is the heart and soul of sophistication. The community has a major tennis event at the end of the summer each year, and many people in town participate.  Comet Pond provides great summer swimming fun for residents.  The community is dedicated to preserving the wonderful country flavor of the town by donating and buying large plots of land for the Princeton Land Trust for future generations.

Each moment spent in this delightful community is more relaxing than the last. Why not choose Princeton for your next home?
